The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ogun West Senatorial District, Sen. Solomon Adeola, on Tuesday doled out empowerment materials to youths and women of the district.
Adeola said at the empowerment programme that one deep freezer would be given to each women leader across the ward as support to their business.
He said that the empowerment programme was extended to 200 physically challenged persons, giving each of them cash sum of N100,000 to start a business on which they had been trained.
“There are people who have been trained on how to produce solar panel, 587 of them have been trained on this.
“We are not giving them any equipment but we are giving them a startup grant, for each of them that has embarked on and succeeded in the training .
“We equally got involved with our teachers and students across Ogun West senatorial district.
“One hundred teachers and 100 students with 200 graduates who are already Bsc holders, Masters, went through ICT training to upgrade so that they can compete with other peers of theirs in their chosen fields of human endeavor.
“We have 445 computers that will be given to those that have undergone this ICT training,” he said
According to Adeola, 300 sons and daughters of Yewa land have been trained on confectionery and they will be empowered with gas cylinders, cookers, and other confectionery equipment.
He said that 587 indigenes that were engaged in Agricultural Value Chain would be given N80,000 each to start up a farm business.
Adeola said that going back to the Senate would further consolidate and reconfirm his ranking as a super ranking Senator .
He said that the empowerment materials were worth millions of naira and appealed to the beneficiaries to put the equipment to proper use and not sell them.
“The training which you have had for the last couple of weeks is to empower you, strengthen you and to enable you to continue to improve on whatever training you have undergone .
“I want to assure you that this is the beginning of good things to come,” he said.(NAN)
