Late Otunba Subomi Balogun, Founder FCMB

The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of Adron Homes and Properties, Aare Adetola Emmanuel-King has mourned the demise of consummate banker and founder, First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Otunba Subomi Balogun.
Otunba Balogun passed on at the early hours of Thursday in London, United Kingdom.
In a condolence message, Emmanuel -King who expressed shock at the death of the prominent Ijebu son, and industrialist, described the demise as a colossal loss to Ijebu People, Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
The Adron Homes Boss stated that Otunba Balogun’s repertoire of knowledge, support and entrepreneurship was needed at this time as Nigeria is transiting to a new government.
“As a private sector guru, successful business mogul and an astute financial czar, his support will help place Nigeria on the path of economic recovery and posterity.”
Emmanuel-King who is also the Otun Onigbagbo of Remo land further described the deceased as a shining light in the banking sector; whose idea had been a game changer in the banking industry with the astronomic growth of FCMB.
“Otunba Balogun is a well respected man with a large heart.
“The illustrious Ijebu son is a very generous philanthropist who has contributed immensely to the growth of many people in and outside Nigeria.
“He is a detribalized Nigerian who is concern about the unity of the country and he has portrayed this with his endearing persona.
“The lacuna his death has left cannot be filed in a hurry,” he said
The Adron Homes CEO therefore,
extended his condolences to the family, government and people of Ogun State, adding that the deceased contributed immensely to the growth of many people in and outside Nigeria.
He prayed that God almighty console the family of the deceased and give them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
